Fillers and Anti-Wrinkle Injections

What are Fillers?

Fillers are a type of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine used to add volume, alter the contours of the face, and fill in wrinkles. Common areas to inject fillers are in the face, neck, and hands, resulting in a fuller, smoother and more youthful appearance.

Dermal Fillers are among the most popular aesthetic procedures because they carry immediate results, very few risks and little recovery time. Filler or ‘Anti-Wrinkle’ Injections are quick, results are immediate, and there is little downtime. We use a variety of fillers at our beauty salon in Reading including:

  • Restylane
  • Juvederm

What is Restylane?

The Restylane line of injectable hyaluronic acid is used to reduce and smooth away wrinkles. The product is FDA approved for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. In addition, Restylane is used to enhance lips in patients over the age of 21.

Restylane is commonly used to treat:

  • Nasiolabial Folds
  • Poor Cheek Volume
  • Lips
  • Chin Wrinkles

We will evaluate your medical history prior to treatment. The identified treatment areas will be marked and we will also take digital photographs to monitor your improvement. If you take medications or vitamins that cause prolonged bleeding, you maybe asked to discontinue these before treatment. Always check with your physician before discontinuing these types of medication.

Restylane – What To Expect

  • Length of Time For The Procedure: 15-30 minutes depending on the areas treated
  • Recovery Time: There is little to no downtime following the procedure. Some patients experience slight bruising which typically subsides soon after the procedure.
  • Final Results of the Procedure: Immediate
  • Duration of Restylane: 6-12 months depending on the patient

Whats is Juvaderm?

Juvederm is commonly used to treat:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Wrinkles around the lips
  • Marionette lines (around the corners of your mouth down to the jawline)

Juvederm is similar to Restylane. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin. Juvderm injectable gel adds volume, which smooths away facial wrinkles and folds.

What Are Injectables?

Injectables are a group of drugs made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, known as botulinum toxin. They are used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscles.

Botulinum toxin is predominately used in cosmetic dermatology as a treatment to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. We use the following type of botulinum:

Bocouture

Bocouture treatment is an injectable prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. Bocouture temporarily reduces muscle contraction in these affected areas.

Bocouture is commonly used to treat:

  • Frown Lines
  • Crow’s Feet
